Parks for Kids?
The National Program for Playground safety estimates that each year approximately 200,000 preschool and elementary children received emergency care for injuries that occurred on playground equipment. Of these, 76% happened in parks on public playground equipment.
There two parts to this project
First – Become familiar with playground safety standards and appropriate equipment. Find at least 2 web sources that contain information related to park and playground safety.
Part 2 - Based on your newfound understanding of playground safety, visit 2 local parks and playgrounds and evaluate their appropriateness for infants and toddlers. Examples of what you should look for include;
Once you have completed your research, summarize the results of your entire findings in a 3-4 page paper.
Paper format
v Papers are to be 3-4 pages in length
v The project must be completed on a word processor; do not turn in a handwritten copy. Use 1 inch margins all the way around. The font should be Times, Ariel, Helvetica, New York or something similar to what you're reading now. Use 12 point size.
v Double space every line of text.
v Attach a face sheet to the assignment which contains the following information centered approximately 3 inches down from the top of the page:

v Fasten multiple pages with one staple in the upper left corner.
v The finished assignment should appear neat, clean, and professional when you turn it in to me.
v List the web sites that you have reviewed (either in within the text of your paper, or on a following page). Be sure to provide the entire URL.
